About

For over thirty years I've managed projects where the details had to be right, much of it in event operations, executive support and protocol.

My background isn't event planning. It's assurance. The work I know best is checking that what everyone believes about an event is actually true: that the invitation list, the seating plan, the venue's door sheet and the security briefing all say the same thing about the same guest, before the day, not after it.

I've worked on executive functions, VIP and protocol-sensitive occasions, and corporate events where an unlisted guest or a wrong seat stops being a small mistake. Protocol and order of precedence, seating, access control and VIP etiquette are what I know best, and they're usually the ones left until the last week.

That work has included helping host a visit by President Nelson Mandela, during my time on Standard Bank's executive events team in South Africa.

How I work: I run the check; you make the decisions. Nothing reaches your client until you've seen it.

I'm new to the UK market, and I'd rather earn the reference than charge as though I already had it, which is why the first engagements are priced the way they are.

To talk about a specific event, email hello@eventconfidence.com, or connect on LinkedIn. No sales calls. I don't ring anyone who hasn't asked me to.

This website stores nothing about you and has no account or login. If you email me, I keep your name, organisation and contact details only so I can reply, and I delete them on request.
